Howdy. This is my 1987 B2000 single cab. I'd love to do it up and get it looking awesome, but the reality is that most of my time and money will be going towards just keeping it running as its my daily driver.
in september 2023 I traveled interstate 1700km (or 1050ish miles) and picked it up sight unseen. bit of a risky move, but apart from one mishap (clutch dying within the first 500km) it got me home and has been reliable enough ever since.
even tho i ride manual motorbikes, somehow i got to my late 40's without owning a manual car. i have only driven stick on 3 occasions before traveling across the country to buy a car with a manual gearbox. sink or swim as they say, haha. o
while it would be nice to get it looking awesome, my budget is small so i gotta choose my battles wisely.
it would be nice to get the kia sportage FE motor for it so it has a bit more ooph so she doesnt struggle up some of the hills i need to drive over sometimes, but we dont have many 'junkyards' as there are in the states, so finding one that doesnt have a rediculous price tag on it will be quite the challenge. if i win the lotto it will get a rotary engine, but hey its reality time, haha.
heres some pics...
this was on the drive home
after the 1700km drive back home
thought id see how she would look with white wheels. this was on a weekend motorbike riding trip
she also get used to take my pushbike to some nice riding spots
while i dont mind the green color, there was no paint code with the car so getting paint color matched is pricey. decided its going black, bit by bit. the end goal is black with olive and grey camo (similar to multicam black)
