HELP!!! - coolant lines

Heater in my 1987 B2000 was disconnected when I got it and I don't want to go through another winter with no heat. the heater core is still there and the left heater hose (If your looking at the firewall from the front of the truck).

My problem starts when you look at the lower metal hose coming of the block going to the radiator it doesn't have any sort of outlet to let me go back up to the heater core. I have been searching forever and I cant find anything. Even the Exploded diagrams I have looked at do not have it or don't have a good part number for it.

Any help would be apricated thanks!

On a B2000 (FE) engine, the metal coolant pipe (for the Driver's side heater hose) is inserted into the aluminum water pump casting at the rear of the aluminum water pump. This metal coolant pipe runs up to the rear of the cylinder head and then wraps around the back of the head. This metal coolant pipe is what the driver's side heater hose connects to, but over on the passenger side of the cylinder head.

Yes, my truck has that pipe but i believe it does not have a spot on the water pump to slide into, the guy who had my truck before me swapped in a 2.2 motor. I forgot to say that in my original post sorry

So......the B2200 (F2) engine will be slightly different. The metal coolant tube is shaped different, and it is inserted into the back of an cast aluminum lower radiator hose fitting, much the same way that the B2000 engine's metal coolant tube is inserted into the water pump's casting.

Ahh okay sweet, thank you!! I don’t have the correct lower metal pipe coming off the engine. Mine doesn't have a spot for the metal coolant line to fit into. Do you have a part number or something I can use to find one?

Can you post a picture or two of what you have? We need to see if you indeed have a swapped in 2.2 or one of those engines that are a 2.0 block, with 2.2 water pump and timing belt/gears.

Yeah.....looks like you have a different lower radiator pipe bolted to a 2.2 engine. Doesn't look like the 2.0 pipe though......maybe one from a Forklift engine? Yep......some Forklift companies sourced Mazda engines and ran them on Propane.

After looking at the 2.0 lower radiator pipe again......it probably is a 2.0 lower pipe.....with the 90° end cut off.

You probably don't want to buy it new though......but if you do, Google the part number and look at all of the Mazda Dealerships that have one listed.......find the cheapest one AFTER shipping........or, go to your local Mazda dealership's parts counter and see what they will sell it for. If you know someone at a body shop or repair garage, they will be able to purchase it cheaper than what a regular counter customer can.......tell them you have cash also! Cash is usually King!
