Weber fuel bowl vent

The vent on the top of the carburetor was filled with dirt. Was a mud wasp trying to nest in there? I don't know except it was plugged. I scraped and then ran a spiral brush through it, then I removed the top of the carb to thoroughly clear it out, blew compressed air through it, sprayed throttle body cleaner into it, blew more compressed air through it, ran a piece of wire through it. When I try to blow through it, it is still plugged.
Any thoughts?

The port lines up with the recessed hole, but they're not connected. I've tried blowing compressed air in, both ways. No passage.

I'm referring to the port that I stuck the red straw into. It appears to line up with a hole on the underside (2nd pic), but they're not connected. The port with the straw inserted appears to go nowhere. Is it just plugged?

I remember talking about this a long time ago in our group on Facebook once where we were trying to decide whether to plug port or not.

Whoever the company they expect this to go to the evaporator canister.

Even if it were plugged it can still breathe through the top of the carburetor where the air filter is.

I don't believe yours is plugged I think you're just bottoming out when you stick something in there.

Thanks once more for your input, Mitch. The 2nd pic I provided has a lot of glare so it's hard to see, but the port (with the straw in it) has no vent to the inside of the float bowl like your 2nd pic illustrates. It appears to dead-end right before the recessed hole it's aligned with.

I was hope that would be my idling issue (dang!), so it's back to the ol' drawing board, eh.
