We didn't have much luggage that time, so it fit behind the front seats. When we've had more, we've just put into the truck bed, as we don't have that rain stuff here in Arizona. And when we had luggage and the bicycles, I have a 2" universal receiver I bolted to the truck rear bumper (see photo) and a 4-bike carrier (Reese) I purchased decades ago at K-Mart.
When we do local, or like last Thursday when I brought down a bicycle from Prescott, I put down a blanket and lay the front wheel over the tailgate (picture below of bikes on the Frontier; the Frontier rear bumper is not strong enough to handle the weight of the receiver, bike rack, and bikes, it actually bends)
