Good to meet you all!
I'm Dan, and I rescued this mostly stock baby blue 1986 B2000 back in February 2024. This is my first truck, my first manual vehicle, and my first vehicle that's older than me! Since then I've replaced the alternator and thermostat, replaced the control arm uppers and tie rods, valve gasket cover, fixed the dashboard lights, dimmer, door light switches, map light, Antenna, and done a hundred other little things. I love this truck! It looks pretty sweet with the cap off, but I usually leave it on because I'm short on space and like to keep things I'm carrying around locked.
My plan for this fall is to keep the stock carb but remove the EGR exhaust pipes by crimping them, remove the EGR hoses and wiring/computer, use a plate to cover the EGR valve hole. Eventually I'd like to upgrade the fuel system and install a Holley Sniper 2300 EFI kit.
