How many shifter boots does the 87-93 b-series trucks take my 89 says 2 but my 92 says 3 any helps is appreciated thanks

So......can you post a picture of the "Shifter Boot" you are wondering about? Is your truck a 4-wheel drive truck?

Don't mean to split hairs, but the console equipped trucks use a much different upper boot. That's the large boot that you see. The shifter knob is also different on console equipped trucks and tucks into the top part of the boot.

Nice Illustration. If you buy and install a used factory console from eBay or a swap meet make sure you get that #16 bracket, it's used to mount the front of both the short and full console. #11 bracket mounts the rear of the full console.
#8 is a shifter boot for console application and much different than non console trucks.

MazdaMitch ya see my 89 don't have the console but my 92 has a plastic cover that requires one also but thanks for all the help everyone

When I posted three, I meant 8, 13, and 15.

I installed a large console from the parts yard into my 1988 B2200 5-speed maybe 15 years ago, mine had the "small console". I noticed that my rubber shift boots under the visible gray one were ripped, never replaced them.

I seem to see Mazda UB416433009 as available for about $50 (#13 in diagram) but seems like #15 may be no longer available (may be UB3964492 or UB4164490).

Any alternatives?

If you want to add a factory console all the threaded mounting holes are in every truck, Mazda put a piece of tape over the holes. You will need to cut a small hole in the carpet to install the console brackets. The "short" console also needs a different shifter plate to mount that console properly. My truck did not have a console and I installed the short console, looks sporty and I like the taller boot and knob. The shifter plate for the short console has two threaded ears that mounts the rear of the console. The front of the short console mounts with a bracket.

Mrcrowley as an aside since you seem to be taking the shifter apart, you may consider replacing the shifter bushing with a brass one. I did, and like it.
