Breather cap

Hello, I am working on my daughter's Mazda B2000 2.0L. I have removed the emission system, carburator, and exhaust system. This is a new experience for me and I have been following along on Mitch's videos. He has been a big help. I am now trying to find a breather cap for the valve cover (since the old system is gone). Can anyone tell me where I might look?

You can get those from any parts store. Mine came in a catch can kit for my old car. I didn't use it on that car, so I used it on my Mazda. Fits perfectly.

You might need to use a drill bit to open up the rubber i.d. a little.

I like to use a rubber hose and run it back into the air cleaner instead of using those breather caps......to each his own though. Here is what I usually do with the Weber carbs that I install on the Mazda trucks, so you have a better idea......there are more parts to buy, but to me it looks more like a stock setup.

There are some rubber connectors that turn a 90° also, and I have used them as well....

Thank you! I like this set up. I will be running it into my Weber air filter. One question, where did you find the 90 degree elbows?

I also route that to the underside of my air cleaner on my Weber. But I don't like the loop in the rubber hose as it hits against the underside of the hood.

I'm going to investigate using this Dorman elbow for my own truck, thanks Axel Breaker !

You're welcome! When using that rubber elbow, you will need to use a smaller diameter hose setup since the "output" end of the rubber elbow is made for a 3/8" or so hose. I just used another 3/8" rubber elbow from the "HELP" section to turn the 3/8" hose up into the base of the Weber air cleaner. I also used a rubber grommet to reduce the base plate opening size (the grommet may be a Mazda PCV grommet that is used in the valve cover) to the outer diameter size of the rubber 3/8" elbow hose.......if you can understand all of that!

In other words......I simply used the stuff I had on hand when doing this! LOL.

The brass colored "rings" within the hose setup are actually brass 5/16" or 3/8" barbed hose connectors that I had in one of my many storage trays and they are connecting a short piece of fuel hose to each end of the whole system, to connect it all!
