Choke nightmare

hey yall i just swapped a b2000 motor into my b2200 body and i was having troubles with the carb, its an empi 32/36x, i know weber would be a better option but it came with it and im just struggling getting the electric choke and choke itself to work. whenever i pull the throttle cable the choke flaps still stay wide open and i can not figure out why, i will post pictures once i take some

There is not a choke played in sight that I can see.

Choke plates are usually on the horn that looks like it's detached from your carburetor.

I don't see a choke butterfly in your picture. But I do see an unconnected choke heater !

The choke plate would be in the air horn (top of carb) of the carburetor, and that has been removed in that picture.

The piece of linkage in the center of the picture that leans off to the right, is what connects to the choke plate in the upper portion (air horn) of the carburetor.

Can you get us a wider view of the setup? I agree with the others, but it looks like that is the bottom of the carb, as if it were off the truck. Another pic may help give more perspective ..
