May buy a Single cab 80's B2000/2200

So of course now that I have one in the family I am seeing them everywhere .. lol

Turns out there is one in my neighbors yard. Basically yard art. It is a single cab that has literally sat in the same spot for the past 8 years. I am considering it for one of two reasons. As a bolt and part donor, since my own is missing bolts and parts everywhere. And/or as a restoration for myself considering the one we have is my daughters.

I am in Florida, so this will obviously come down to price. I paid $1K for my 87 xcab in "running" condition. I am going to have to drag this one home, albeit a block away.
I was going for broke and looking at offering this guy $400 to haul it way if it has a FL title. Without title, I was going to offer $200.

I figured with the experience I already have, I should have no trouble justifying the initial offer for this abandoned ride.

Honestly on the outside it does not look that rough, but neither did my current truck. Body and metal look all there, all glass is there and its on wheels. I'm guessing the motor blew sometime ago and it was left for dead on this farm.

Any other suggestions?

Yeah, I catch a lot of flack from my friends about my 7 or 8 Mazda trucks that I own.......and they can't stand the fact that I work on "them" instead of my classic vehicles that I also own. I just smile and agree with them.......and keep working on my Mazda's!
Although I did just buy another classic recently......a 1979 VW Super Beetle convertible......and have been working on it. One of my friend's has actually come over multiple times to help me work on it.......and gain some more automobile knowledge, since he is kinda new to the classic car scene. He has a 1946 Chevy truck that he's been building, and I've helped him some on that as well.

I think your VW convertible is a 1979. I just purchased a used window regulator for my 1971 VW convertible, as these are no longer available new. So next project for me is to fix that driver door window.
Yes, I still have my 1970 VW sedan, owned 52 years; just 48 years for my 1971 convertible.

Axel-Breaker-Earl It's inda funny how we find commonality through these projects. I too have a VW a 67, combined time of ownership is 35 years, there was actually a 25 year break in between where I sold it, regretted it, found it 25 years later and had it given back to me ..

I wonder why OGMB2K's 1967 VW has the old-style headlights; 1967 VW Beetles had the modern-style headlights (at least for the USA market, don't know about others).

Cusser You absolutely right, 67 was the year where the headlights changed. I however, am no purist, I prefer the early 60's buckets and the shaved top hat turn signals. Those actually have Porsche covers on them. This time around I may source earlier fenders with the bullet turn signals. I even want to add repro LED semaphores.

No. I posted a picture of a 1967 earlier. It could be that some early-manufactured 1967 models used still-available front fenders and headlights. Or, a previous owner liked the look and installed early front fenders and headlights.
