Xoloanon Anyone made a drop control arm? I’ve looked a pics and video of the djm arms and it looks like they literally just stepped the balljoint mount up. Basically like flipping the balljoint with a 3” spacer. They are $500 and I have a cnc plasma table. Any reason why this wouldn’t work? This is only spaced up 2”.
Xoloanon Didn’t get alot of feed back so went and made one to try 😂 . Only 2” drop the djm ones are 3”.
Axel-Breaker-Earl If you are using long bolts & nuts just to check the stance......OK. If you are planning to test drive it like this.......please don't take a passenger with you, and hopefully there are no other unsuspecting drivers on the roads you go on!!
Xoloanon lol alright, I can tell just by your question you have no idea what your talking about. The all thread is there to hold the balljoint place in exactly the same place as it would be factory except 2” higher. It’s 3/16” plate fully tig welded.
lizardkingjr Imagine telling ABE that he has no idea what he's talking about regarding these trucks. Lol!
Xoloanon lizardkingjr I just did because it’s pretty apparent if you know what’s going on the all thread is a fixture to locate the balljoint while the plates are welded in places. Djm arm is exact same expect it’s even more rise in the balljoint.
Xoloanon Waiting on my new rotors to be here this week before I can assemble the spindle and actually bolt the wheel up.
Axel-Breaker-Earl Since your last pictures were posted AFTER I made my comment, I now know that you were using the bolts to place the ball joint plate at the appropriate height. You didn't mention that you were welding sides on there also.......and as I tell my Wife.......I'm sorry that I don't read minds very well. 😉
Axel-Breaker-Earl lizardkingjr You peacenik, you! LOL! I was being honest! His welding looks very good......better than I can do!
Ebersole0828 curious as to how much neg camber that will put into it. I had the same question on the DJM arms. I moved my lower balljoints inboard about 3/4" and it helped get back some pos camber. Handles a lot better. Trade off was it raised the front about 1/2".
Xoloanon I’m sure there will be some but maybe alittle less than the djm arms since they are a 3” drop. I’ll modify the uppers if I need to get the camber better. I know on the Nissan harbodies they will swap control arms from side to side and flip them upside down and fixes some of the balljoint angle in your low or bagged.
Ebersole0828 Xoloanon cool, I was going to extend to uppers but I did not want to get any closer to the fender. I have 4x4 fenders on with the lips rolled and it clears for the most part but moving the top of the wheel outward would not be great. I actually thought about the nissan trick... have not had time to try it on the Mazda.
