Weber Oregon Emissions

I've got a 1990 carbed base model and am thinking about swapping out the old carb with a weber. Plenty of great write ups on how to do that out there. My question is related to emissions testing. HC would need to be below 220 ppm, CO below 1%, and CO+CO2 6%. Is that doable the weber kit? Has anyone done it successfully?

No idea. Hope someone knows.
Here in Mississippi we don't have to worry about that and the Weber is basically a "race" or "off-road use" carb.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen some posts of people getting smog to pass on webers in 4runners and VW's. So it seems that its possible as oregon doesn't do visual inspections but the mixture needs to be very lean with some.

"With a good tune, new plugs, good wires, timing set and leaning the fuel mixture as lean as you can go before it starts to stumble with a good cat, you should be able to pass."

Not sure how true that is but it might be worth a go.

There used to be this stuff called "Guaranteed to Pass". I remember folks running that stuff and it works, but your engine will run like garbage until it goes thru. You're supposed to get your tank really low and put this stuff in. I don't know what it had in it, but I'd reckon it's like 100% ethanol or something that adds a lot of oxygen into the fuel.

Here in California we have strict Smog inspections every other year. Mazda from around 1990-93 was only selling fuel injected B2200s here in our state so these trucks would be better able to pass the Smog inspections.. And my 91 B2200 also came with fuel injection. I just passed my Smog inspection in September and what I do prior to getting an inspection is to put in a new air filter, change the oil & filter and add a bottle of "Engine Restore" oil additive. This has worked for me.
