Not sure what they are called, but I believe there are O-rings that seal the opening that the "Metal Rods" slide into......to the aluminum transmission case, from looking at some of the drawings on the Mazda Parts pages on the Jim Ellis Mazda site.
I think that if you were to unbolt them, slide them out an 1/4" or so, spray the area good with Brake Parts Cleaner to remove the gear oil.......let dry and put some Ultra Grey RTV around the rods and slide back into place & tighten the bolts.....it should stop the leaking.
Here is a pic of the whole transmission so others can see where these are located on the 5-speed manual trans.....
Keep in mind that it's possible that the gear oil may not be leaking from those two areas......the shifter handle rubber "boot" that blots to the top of the trans tailshaft, where I have it covered with blue masking tape, has a tendency to dry out and crack and some oil can be coming from there, above those "rods" and leaking down and dripping off of those areas.
