My radiator is slightly different ... They may be hard to see here, but there is an alignment where each factory tab on the shroud touches metal and one pre drilled hole on the radiator ... What I don't want to do is start this journey with zip straps instead of proper fasteners..

Just drill the appropriate size hole where you need them and use a small bolt and nut.......I wouldn't use Zip Ties either.

That being said, with these aftermarket radiators, once I attached the shroud, PROPERLY, does the factory fan line up correctly or will this take further persuasion in the way of moving the or re-aligning the radiator so it doesn't chew up the fan shroud.

Considering the condition of this truck, I see new motor mounts in my future as well to reduce engine torque movement and vibrations.

Well if you do the only ones you should buy is OEM only from Mazda I've done been down that road before and if you buy the cheap ones they will be too hard and you will have it cab drone and excessive vibration in the steering wheel. I want the cheap route one time and bought the anchor Brand from RockAuto and that was a huge regret made a video about it it's on YouTube it's not the best but it's out there and it's basically saying what I'm saying now is to buy OEM it is a complete night and day difference.

Once I drilled the 4 holes and attached the fan shroud, my radiator fan was perfectly lined up.

Understood. Being this deep into the project, I would have to agree, some things you need to get OEM and based on your experience, a no brainer. Thank you, just another part to add to the list .. lol

Might be a good time to pull the motor, clean it and replace internal items like the throw out bearing and inspect the clutch. All components to replace with OEM quality.

The fan shroud can be moved up or down to align the fan in the center of the shroud hole......and should be to get the best performance of air movement. The left and right alignment should be spot on once the radiator is mounted to the core support.

Axel-Breaker-Earl So it sounds like your saying it is best to mock up the radiator and shroud with the fan installed, mark the holes on the radiator brackets and then make the permanent mounts. That way I guarantee a centered shroud for maximum air volume.

Wouldn't hurt. You state your radiator is a little different than mine, but with my radiator and fan shroud I didn't have much wiggle-room where my fan shroud could be mounted due to the radiator frame and the outlet pipes for the radiator hoses. I didn't need to use small "mending plates" from the hardware store to make extension mounts.

By the way: in response to your earlier comment, I did not polish the aluminum radiator, that's how it was and is.

The stock carbureted B2200 has three temperature senders. One is on the intake manifold, for the ECU. One is on the radiator for the PTC heater plate under the stock carburetor. These are essentially for pollution reasons and definitely not needed with an aftermarket Weber carburetor.

The third sender is for the temperature gauge in the instrument cluster.

Cusser Appreciate you putting this together for me. Doing a head gasket replacement and notice the temp gauge doesnt work in the cab. Got a replacement but wasnt sure where it was. thanks!!!

Thank you brother but im not sure if mine is different cuz its not there on mine. the oil sending unit is there but not the temp sending unit. any other possible locations?

On the carbureted B2200 engines, that sending unit is tough to locate, hidden under a hose. I'm not familiar with fuel injected B2200 engines but would imagine it's in the same location.

Could someone in the past sheared that off and the broken stub is still in there? Got really good photos of that area?

I posted earlier what my B2200 temperature sender looks like.

Sir, you are good. I found it it was sheared off. trying to find a good replacement cuz the one i had ordered from rock auto is to big. ordered a different one and hope it fits. But now the question is where does it hook up too?

Should hook up to a yellow wire with white stripe, look for an un-used wire coming out of the harness near there; if the connector is gone a female crimp-on "bullet connector" can be used. If all else fails, a new wire could be run to the instrument cluster.
