Mazda_Scud I have a few days off for the upcoming thanksgiving holiday. I’m going to take advantage of the time off and do some maintenance on my Mazda. My question is do I need to worry about priming the oil pump after installing a new pump? If so how do I go about doing so? I read the service manual and did not see anything on priming the pump other than living during installation but I’d rather be safe than sorry.
MazdaMitch You can disconnect the coil wire and turn it over several times and that will prime it enough. Do it for about 20 seconds. Connect coil wire and start it up.
