12 valve cylinder head swap

Hey I was wondering if anyone done this cylinder head swap from the turbo ford probe? And if anyone knows what this part is called I’ve seen it in videos called a timing cover and to my best knowledge its an ignition and water outlet put together and allows for the distributor and the water out to be in front of the engine instead of the rear any knowledge on this matter would be deeply appreciated.

I just realized this is off my original b2200 cylinder head. Also the way I see this working is taking the ecu and dash from a 12v turbo f2 engine and replacing the ones out of my truck to get the fuel injection to work. But does anyone know of a way to have it tuneable? Appreciate any feedback if possible.

I was thinking along the same lines. I have the same questions but maybe an answer for the ECU. I would definitely use a MicroSquirt in lieu of the factory ECU - especially with the need to tune it. There are obviously other options for ECU's, some that have self-learning/tuning features for more money. That said, I think you're on the right track and I'm going to keep following your progress on this.

Have you heard if they have customer support and thank you so much I’m not gonna lie I didn’t know that these units exist and I was curious as to what math or process it takes to oversize valves on the f2-t or are you just asking to much at that point out of the cylinder head?

Big-Homie-B2200 You mean "does MicroSquirt/MegaSquirt have customer support"? Not really, it's a community driven thing. There tuners who know it but it's meant purely for DIYers who want full control over their project. It's quite good. However, if you're looking for a more supported platform, you could go with a Holley Sniper setup, or with another platform like MaxxECU.

kz6fittycent thanks a ton man he goes in depth a bunch and this is very close and not gonna lie ive been seeing videos of guys on the MicroSquirt and for price point im gonna give it try, but to be honest im really green when it comes to modding and fabricating just doing the research for this alone is showing me how much i dont know. And i go to tech school and still just mind blown by technologies from the 90s and mixing it with stuff from today.
