Chad Is it difficult to convert a b2600 to a 2200. Found a carbureted 2600. With a bad motor. I have a 2200 motor and transmission already.
MazdaMitch The frame is different. Motor mounts are not the same, the location. I think the transmission cross member is in a different location too. It can be done with some mods.
Chad MazdaMitch ok I bought a 2600 carb truck. I have a motor and transmission for a 2200. Thought about putting it in it. If it wasn’t to much of a hassle
Axel-Breaker-Earl There is a lot of items that will be on the wrong side of the engine compartment when doing the swap, but anything is possible. The carbed B2600 had a Mitsubishi engine in it and the exhaust and intake were on the opposite sides of the engine compared to a Mazda B2200 engine truck. Here are a couple of engine compartment pics that I saw online to compare..... 1987 B2600.... 1987 B2200...
Chad Axel-Breaker-Earl Thanks. Probably going to just get the parts I want off of it a scrap the rest. Or let a buddy have what’s left to put a motor in it.
EmJay Someone a few years back did the Mazda MPV 3.0 b6 swap in one of these. Might have been the injected model, not too sure. But it fit. Even used the 2600 trans. Might be worth a look.
