So, there is a known issue with the electrical portion of the Ignition Switch.......if you are driving down the road and everything just dies, I would first look at the ignition switch (electrical portion). There is also a know issue with the ECU where the 2 Rubicon Capacitors will leak acid onto the board and it starts to etch and corrode the board. When this happens, it affects the fuel injector circuits.
The electrical portion of the ignition switch can actually be taken apart and cleaned, then re-lubed and put back in service. When it is going bad, it seems that the constant voltage signal that is needed at the ignition coil, gets interrupted because of the dirty or worn contacts inside the ignition switch.
