Turn signal swap

I hinted at this in one of other posts, so I figured I would make it official.

Has anyone ever switched the leads for the turn signals and the marker lights in the front end?

Looking at this from a safety perspective, once you get these trucks low to the ground the turn signals become almost invisible. Therefore, I thought to switch the power leads on the parking lights with the ones in the turn signal converting marker lights into turn signals and the turn signals into marker / driving / fog lights. With the continued advancement in LED lighting, I thought it may look like a really clean conversion and a simple one considering how both are wired up.

Has anyone done this before? Once I start this, I will use this post for the updates, pics and how to's.

Yes, I've done this, and this is the current configuration of my valence and corner lights on my truck. I, too, did it for safety so that cars to my immediate left or right could see that I was signaling a turn.

It wasn't a too difficult wiring swap. I did change the light socket in the corners in order to fit an 1157 bulb -- I used a Dremel cutting wheel to take out the 1156 socket and then JB Welded an 1157 socket in its place. I then put LED switchback bulbs in the corner lights so that I could use them as both DRL (white) and turn signals (flashing amber). I had to add load resistors too. I bought the bulbs at superbrightleds.

My valence lights are just white DRL LEDs.

One time I did the basic swap, I just unpinned the plugs and repinned basically it swapped them.

Some add the extra in the corner lights so that while the park lights are on the valance and the corners are lit, and when the blinker is on the corners blink too.
