Power steering removal

I didn't want to jack the other thread so I will ask my questions here.

My truck has/had power steering. I know that the PS unit leaks and will need repairing or replacing.
Mitch, I'm with you in saying this truck doesn't require it, so let's assume I am going to remove it.

In removing the PS, I know the steering box has to be changed and the pump/lines removed. I would then assume that the bracket that holds the pump, which also holds the A/C remains in the truck correct? Or is there a dedicated A/c bracket without PS pump mounting holes? Or is it a package deal, where if you have A/C you have to have PS?

And what about belts? Would I then just need a pulley to A/C compressor belt?

IF this pertains to the B2200/B2000 trucks.......No package deal on having A/C and therefore getting P/S also. They have different brackets for A/C only, and A/C with P/S.

Here are some pics of my 1989 regular cab truck when I built an engine for it. I bought the truck without an engine and had to source the correct A/C & P/S bracket for the engine, from a junkyard if I am not mistaken.......It was not with the truck when I bought it. It's a fairly large cast iron engine bracket, and it is made for the B2200 only, I think, but not 100% sure on that. It may be the same one for the B2000 engine, not sure......maybe someone that has the same combo on a B2000 can confirm this.

Anyway, here are some pics of the bracket and the related brackets/tensioner bolt(s) for the A/C that attaches to the large cast iron bracket also.....

Thanks for those pics, I currently have that lower bracket I believe for the PS Pump. After seeing your pics I know I'm missing the A/C compressor bracket, DAM, I didn't think it swung that far over the steering box.

Next comes addressing the belt, Is there an isolated belt for just the A/C or does it share the PS pump too?

AC belt is separate from the power steering belt. For B2200:
Power steering belt Gates 9325
Alternator belt Gates 9365
Timing belt B2200 Gates T134
AC compressor belt Gates 9375 NAPA 25-9375

Axel is correct and I had that same power steering bracket but no power steering on the red truck and I didn't have the proper bracket at the time so I took that to a big bandsaw and chopped off that part that sticks out in front towards the fan.

Bandsawed it and used the grinder to dress it up and it was fine.

I have a header on mine so to keep the AC compressor away from the header best I can, I use another alternator belt.
Its shorter, and once you tighten it up, you are not close to the header.
