Red91EFI Prenchpry I'm also here in California and I have a 1991 B2200 with stock fuel injection and over 300,000 miles. I passed smog this past Sept. and I pass every time. What I do prior to going in for the smog inspection is to install a new air filter, change the oil & filter and add a bottle of "Engine Restore" to the fresh oil. Make sure the truck is nice and hot when you go in for the test. That works for me but I have fuel injection that probably runs cleaner than a carb.

Red91EFI Forgot to add that make sure your plugs are good and gapped properly and timing is set to factory specs. Where I go for smog inspections charged me $100. and that includes certificate. and we do that every other year. It's not easy living in California.
Cusser I thought that Trump is overturning CARB rules???? Or can you register as a collector vehicle? Testing the few older vehicles still on the road is a drop in the bucket; testing didn't help California's air quality - technology did !!!! Of course the two largest counties in Arizona still test back to 1967 year.
Axel-Breaker-Earl Cusser I thought that Trump is overturning CARB rules? Imagine how much money Cali (for the required testing) and it's inhabitants (for having to pay shops to test them) will save if there is no more CARB........they could get rid of a lot of government oversight!
