Carb floats replacement

If you needed to replace your floats would you go with the brass or back with the plastic I need to replace mine due to one side starting to Crack and it will fill up and throw stuff off as most know

I would go plastic or whatever material that is.

The brass ones can get a hole and fill up. The other as I mentioned and solid and doesn't have this problem.

MazdaMitch ok thanks I just asked cause they where talkin bout it bein the upgraded version.....I think I need to adjust mine it seems to be gettin to much fuel or the jets are wrong it said mine was 140 on both sides primary and secondary would that be correct you said something different in a video I watched

the ethanol killed the float in my weber, switched to the brass, but i have another weber on a Samurai thats over 25 years old and its still good so , who knows, the fuel sender is on the guess how much is in the tank on my B2200, new sender has the white plastic float. Ethanol is hard on stuff

I've run genuine Redline Weber 32/36 DGEV in my 1988 B2200 daily driver since early 2005, and Arizona has ethanol-containing gasoline; I've never had any issues with the carburetor, never have had it apart.

My 1971 VW Beetle has a single Weber 40DCNF since back in 1976, and that carburetor has never even been off its manifold since then. I did replace its accelerator pump once though.

I have three engines that have a carburetor -- my B2200, a snow blower, and a lawn mower.

All three get expensive, high-octane, non-ethanol gas. I've had zero problems ever since I switched from the cheap 10% ethanol gas about 5 years ago.

87 is all you need.

Got the Lawn Boy GoldPro 10550 mower with 6.5 hp Duraforce 2-stroke engine restored back to almost new. Built in 2001, it was almost quarter century of accumulated dirt, grass, grease, and grime that I cleaned out of it -- including the plastic carburetor. Got it a new aftermarket coil (gapped to 0.010 in), spark plug (gapped to 0.030 in), fuel line, and fuel filter. Painted the wheels for the hell of it -- probably won't last. It starts up beautifully. I'm looking forward to using it again in about a month!

In my area, the only way you can get non-ethanol gas is 91 octane.
