Mrcrowley I won't ask any more ? You won't have to worry about answering another ok so you good now? I just need to replace a head bolt and you won't hear another thing from me that's for sure
Mrcrowley, we are definitely not trying to be mean in any way here on the forum. I just wanted to let you know that when you rebuild an engine, a ton of things can go wrong, so it is in your best interest to follow through the Factory Workshop Manual as you rebuild your engine.......you will thank us afterwards! It is very easy to follow, and you learn so much.
The crankshaft bearing that you posted a picture of, is the Crankshaft Thrust Bearing. It sits in the engine block (NOT the CAP!) in the very middle bearing location (# 3 Location) on a B2000/B2200 engine. It basically not only has a bearing surface for the crankshaft journal, but it also has SIDE bearing surfaces also, to give the crankshaft something to "push" against when the is a load on the engine. This SIDE bearing surface(s) determines how much Crankshaft End Play that the engine will have.
I have pulled bad engines apart before and saw where the Thrust bearing was put in the WRONG location! Those engines did not last very long at all. We are all encouraging to use the Factory Workshop Manual so that you have a great experience when your engine is ready to start up!
