I swear to God, if I ever find the Puerto Rican asshole that sold me this truck on the road, I will test his elasticity by bouncing him off of Dolly's hood.

I thought, I asked all the possible questions to determine the condition of this truck, I knew I was buying a restoration project.
What I didn't know is that I would have to replace every fucking thing I touch on this truck.
Today's adventure .. I tried removing the flywheel with the 12 fucking point socket set I bought (metric). Having more tools is not the problem, the problem ... The bolts weren't metric!!!! Who the fuck puts standard head 12pt bolts on a Mazda flywheel. My SAE 12pt socket took them right off ... I'll be buying new bolts as I scarred a couple trying to use the metric sockets ....
Then it looks like I will be replacing the rear main seal .. fine no surprise there ...

But surprise, the fucking bolts that hold theat plate in place, stripped and cross threaded. So trip 2 to ACE to buy new bolts and time to repair the threading in the block ... Uggggggg
And it's not even on the engine stand yet ... Lol

Ahh that felt good .. lol

The 12mm headed bolts? The ones that secure the trans/engine plate in place?

So, just so you know.......you don't need to remove the rear main seal housing to replace the rear main seal.......and doing so may cause an oil leak......exactly what you are trying to avoid.

To remove the old rear main seal, I drill a small hole into the metal of the old seal. I then screw a small sheet metal screw into that hole, just enough to grip the seal good. Then I use either pliers, or a robust door panel tool to pry the seal out of it's housing.

Thanks for being the ray of sunshine around this thunderstorm of a fucking truck .. I needed that, especially after finding this under my carpet last night ...

How the fuck does this happen with no other rust in the truck?

I know the previous owner never saw this .. how?
Every bolt, clip and push pin on the carpet was still in place !!!
The only thing this moron did, was unbolt the shoulder restraint from both the passenger and driver's side and tuck them into the space where the retractors reside.
A - why the fuck would you do that?
B - why didn't GOD erase that mistake while he had the chance ?

He must have wanted me to rescue this truck .. lol

BTW, the rust above the hole is deceptive, it is just the rusty insulation material as I pealed back the rubber flooring. I later pulled that out and cleaned the floor pan.

Yes Mitch that is the parking pad you see through those holes .. Concrete, freshly power washed after the oil and tranny fluid letting from pulling the engine ..
