So I didn't think I would have to start this post until I began to build the custom interior and stereo .. but what I found .. just makes me want to cry 😭. Not because this can't be fixed, but because this truck is not going to give me a break ..
Here we go ... First a tutorial on how to change the carpet in an extra cab B2200.

Step 1: Remove everything !!! Seriously everything ..
Step 2: Done ...

I'll try and get some pics up, but apparently they are to big. Anyhow, the original carpet was nasty, faded, and rotting. Once I removed it, I pulled the rubber padding in the front of the cab since I plan to add sound deadening. Well, once I pulled the rubber padding, LOOK WHAT I FOUND !!!

I'm trying to figure out how this happens without having rust anywhere else on the truck. ????????

Regardless, it's off to the body shop for a pan repair and to straighten out those engine Cross brace brackets ....

Yay me !!!!

The windshield could be leaking, or one or more of the cowl seals, and/or screw anchors in the cowl, are letting water into the cab.

Does the blower motor work? It is located right under the cowl fresh air intake for the ventilation system......and when the cowl has a leak on the passenger side, some of the water collects in the lower portion of the blower motor......yes, in a bushing that needs to stay dry, except for a light oil needed to allow the blower motor armature to spin......and pretty soon it won't with water getting in there!

You are probably right about the blower motor, it currently does not work, as there is no A/C atm (as in doesn't work)

I will probably find that to be true. So I guess I have to pivot AGAIN, and dismantle the dash ahead of schedule to find that answer and give my bodyshop more space to safely work.
I'm running out of space to store parts ... lol

By the way, these trucks are seriously over engineered, which is good. I do not know how many of you have ever removed the carpet from an extra cab truck, but as I mentioned, EVERYTHING inside this truck has to be removed to accomplish this. This carpet has more attachment points than I have ever seen ...

I have never owned a cab plus only single cabs but I've done the carpet in a single cab and have a video on YouTube about that which wasn't very detailed but kind of...

Anyways when I ripped up the carpet it was kind of rusted so I treated it with phosphoric acid and then painted it..

On the driver side it would leak and that leak was 100% the windshield leaking as I would catch it leaking during the rain and it was because the urethane had dried up and cracked and made a valley to where the water could run down the window and into the cab.
