Sheet gasket sometimes comes in handy to make your own gaskets. Typically I drill the holes first, then cut out the rest.
Yeah, in the old days, the Mazda mechanical fuel pumps (at least from the traditional parts stores) would come with 2 gaskets and a spacer (how I now have three spare spacers). Like I've posted before, in 30 years of ownership I've had the mechanical fuel pumps leak externally through the weep hole, but never have experienced a broken arm/lever.
_I've got two old VWs (1970 and 1971). When one needs to replace the rear brake shoes, one needs two little clips to move the parking brake levers over to the new shoes, and also 2 very large cotter pins to retain the 36mm rear axle nuts. Could anyone, anywhere have figured out to include these in with their new brake shoes? At least back then I'd buy from an import parts store called BAP and they would stock those parts, but the big chain stores would not.
Even today, stores like Autozone and O'Reilly will stock stuff like ONE wheel cylinder, even though most folks replace as a pair. Once one is purchased, the store software automatically orders ONE to replace that..._
