Stock carb rebuild

I like everyone else was planning on doing the weber convertion, although for me it was a future project since car is running good.

Until today suddenly no idle circuit, this carb seems messy and i cant find a good rebuild guide or atleast cleaning guide. Dont have the funds for a weber in this moment.

Could someone point me in the right direction?
Rebuild kit is hard to get here in sweden, i assume gaskets are gonna break?

From everything I've read, it's a pretty complicated rebuild of the Nikki carburetor.

Once mine goes, I'll be hauling it to Mitch's house, so he can help me install a Weber.

And if he won't have me, I'll go to ABE's place.

And if he won't have me, I'll go to Cusser's place and finally get to meet Susan Sarandon.

And if he won't have me, I'm effed.

Is rebuilding the stock carburetor hard?
Yes.

Put on some classical music and don't have any distractions and you'll get through it.

I did this a long time ago I think it was somewhere between 1999 and 2001 but yes it is like 500 pieces and it was a pain in the butt but I got it done and it worked a good while after and I think I replaced it in 2011 with the Weber because even though it was rebuilt the Nikki still would give me trouble sometimes.

Very complicated (I never tried to rebuild mine, just went Weber back in 2005), and if you need to buy any of the many solenoids or switches for this from the dealer, such part - if available - is likely as much as a Weber kit.

Yup, so i heard….

I was more thinking of getting the idle jet out and clean it just to see if it works cause its så obvious an idle circuit problem.

Hard to find stuff avout the nikki carbs aswell im finding out

In the past 30 years or so, I have successfully rebuilt the stock Nikki carburetor twice I think......and I have NOT successfully rebuilt it about 4 times! I still have new rebuild kits that I bought locally and online, from years ago. I finally gave up on them once they started developing issues, and now I just buy a true Weber carb from Redline and swap it out......since we have no emission checks here in North Central Florida. The Weber is way easier to tune and adjust, and is a simple as it gets with carbs.
