I'm in Arizona, use the AC practically year-round on my B2200, and have had Weber since 2005. I simply run year-round with the idle raised a little, I don't monkey with it.

You might have found this Mitch but looks like that other relay was for the ptc heater. So guessing if you swap to a Weber it’s not needed?

So do we know if these trucks need anything electronic for them to shift right? I know the kick down relay. But mine has a controller for the trans what all does it control I would like to delete if possible

Mazdafreak that controller in the driver side kick panel is probably responsible for sending instructions to the kickdown relay when the kickdown switch is pressed by the gas pedal or something like that I'm new to the automatic but I wouldn't get rid of that.

I mean if anything for testing if your stuff is working you can unplug it and go for a ride and see what it does.

Mine is a Weber swap and so I had already chopped out the kickdown relay and then I had to put it back because after reading the wiring diagram and worrying about this truck working correctly that's how I found out and I put it back.

It depends on the truck. The 4WD B2600i auto trans trucks do indeed have a transmission ECU.

I don't believe that it does.......only the control box that Mitch has mentioned, located behind the left side kick panel.

Did some digging and think I figured those relays all out. If you do the Weber swap it leaves the horn, kickdown and ptc heater relays. I looked at the wiring diagram’s and each relay and took pictures and wrote on them.

Here are the wiring diagrams and you can look at ptc Heater, horn or kickdown relay and see the color of the wires that are on the plug in.

Good job you made me review my findings.

So I used to think this thing was the horn relay but I must have been over caffeinated when I looked at this before because today I hooked up a jump box to the truck and tried it out and sure enough this is not the horn relay.

So once again before I get to caffeinated I decided to look at my wiring diagram and cross-check the wires because I had cut them out and had to wire them back in so I wanted to be sure they were correct.

This time I marked them with a marker.
Indeed this is the kickdown relay according to the wiring.
Just like you were discovered.
Black with yellow stripe
Yellow with green stripe
Black
Black with red stripe

And last but not least this is the horn relay and wiring.
Green with white stripe (2)
Green with yellow stripe
Big black wire with red stripe

Hey Mitch is the black wire on your kickdown relay a ground? Mine is cut and had a piece of broken wire wire nutted to it that went nowhere.

Yes it is indeed a ground.
