Started pulling the motor out of one truck to put in this one and build it 10 months ago. Three of those months I built that big sign. So about 7 months of work. Sat it back on its own wheels for first time since the start. Next I’ll move to the back pull the bed off, detail and paint all the rear frame. Lower it, have 4” angled blocks and plan to pull a leaf because I don’t want to mess with the drop leafs moving my axle. Put the 4x4 bed on and finish hooking up motor stuff.

Cleaned up shop and wiped down the truck and pulled the bed off what I could to see how it looks.

Got most of the back torn down and cleaned up the back of the cab. Shines like new paint.

Looking good! It is amazing how good the paint looks on the back of the Cab, when it gets the 25 year old grunge cleaned off of it.

Got half of the back frame all wire wheeled and cleaned up and painted. Got the rear axle and clean and painted and sandblasted the leaf springs.

Factory tank was in pretty bad shape after I looked inside it. Used another tank I had from my parts truck. Let 3 gallons of vinegar soak inside it and pressure washed and painted it.

Brake drums turned and painted.

Got most of it all back together. Front is reindexed torsion bar and 2” drop control arm. Back is 3” block and one leaf taken out. I still want it a good bit lower so may get a 4” block and take another leaf out.

I do not want to slow down your progress, but do u happen to have a pic of the rear end stance with a 3" block?
As I catch up to you, I stay one step behind to monitor your progress .. lol
My daughter's truck currently in has a 4" block with a monoleaf, but the entire front end is toast. My gut tells me to go 3" and leave it a little higher, as I break her in to the lowered mini truck culture. She has her whole life to clear reflectors .. lol

And I too am a little afraid to look in my new project trucks gas tank I do have a borescope I should give it a look but I'm a little nervous of what I might find....

This was my 1988's gas tank when I installed a new fuel sending unit in 2009 - but remember I'm in Arizona. No rust at all !

It’s dupli-color low gloss black engine paint. It’s the best looking “satin” black paint I’ve found. Only found it at oreillys also.

Just these pics with the 3” block right now. I’m got a few days before parts show up I might try and set the bed back on to see how it looks with the bed and I’ll get another picture for you. Without the bed a 3” block and one leaf removed there is 7” between axle and frame right now.

Cleaned up the tail light housings. Replaced all the outside bulbs on the truck with leds. New lens on the tail lights and fixed some hacked up trailer wiring I guess it was.

I sat the 2wd bed on just to see how it sat with current suspension. Front is reindexed torsion bar and 2” drop control arm. Back is 3” angled block and one leaf spring pulled out of the pack. I have some 4” blocks on the way and may take another leaf spring out. Back tires are 245/45r18 so it’s way to big also.

You're not notched so be careful. You're getting into my territory now and the axle bounces off the frame. Grant it, my rear shocks are shot and I am running 17's and a monoleaf. I think its to low without doing some type of notch in the frame ..

I plan to put a notch in that stays below the bed floor. Just trying to get the ride height right so I know how much to notch it.

I've pulled about 8 steering wheels on these and haven't had need to use a puller; I just leave the big nut on loosely and wiggle tug. But I'm in Arizona.

Xoloanon Got the driveshaft all disassembled and working on finding ujoints now. First time I’ve messed with “staked” ujoints.

Mitch has part numbers listed in the tech section.

I took my own Cab Plus 2-piece driveshaft to a shop for replacement of the U-joints and carrier bearing last year (expensive)
