This is the under-engine cross member, correct? Can you measure the diameter of the hole, would be about 10mm or 12mm. The bolts can be longer than needed, would not matter. I've found that Ace Hardware carries way more metric stuff than Home Depot, much better on many items. Like today I picked up two set screws with allen head for something at my home, were 8-32 thread even though made in China.

As you can see from the pic in the above reply, this whole area is twisted and bent. The rig the previous owner made is insane and forced me to buy new lower control arms as well. I will be sourcing them from ACE, but I would rather not start guessing, each trip there and back costs me an hour ..

The 1987 B2000 Mazda Flange Bolt part number for the transmission crossmember is:

9979-61-025

You can get on Jim Ellis Mazda's Parts website and look up the bolts, washers, & nuts and actually order the correct Mazda bolts........but you can also buy a regular metric FLANGE Bolt, FLANGE Nut, Flat Washer & Lock Washer from a hardware store and it will look exactly like the Mazda fasteners.

Strike 1 guys, it is not the transmission crossmember, it is the cross member that sits below the engine. Should be a total of 4 bolts ...

Here is the garbage I have there now .. They are not the factory bolts

I'm fortunate; Ace is 400 yards away from me in Phoenix. I was there yesterday, bought two allen-head 8-32 set screws for a toilet paper roll holder, and a 3-foot piece of aluminum 1-inch angle, which I cut to 16 inches and silicone-glued in to replace a cheaply made gray handle for a fruit drawer in the refrigerator (Mrs. Cusser broke that, she can break anything!!!).

Why those set screws were 8-32 in a china-made part from 2 decades ago, I have no idea, but the original ones were slotted and one I couldn't tighten. 53 cents each.

So now on to the bonus round .. I have this valve cover .. pictured below, underneath it has another plate that is removable and has its own gasket. That too needs to be replaced as it was all cracked when I took the plate off to completely clean the inside of the valve cover.

Any Idea what that cover is called? Or where to locate the gasket that was originally there? It seems to provide a channel for the PCV valve and collects oil over time ..

I'll get a picture of it tonight when I'm home to show the class ..

OGMB2K it is a baffle and it is really hard to get that gasket.

Sometimes it comes with a valve cover gasket kit but often times these days it is missing from that kit.

No worries you really don't need it what you can do is put some black RTV around where the gasket once lived and let it tack up a little bit and then put your baffle back on.

MazdaMitch get you windows decal maybe? I'm one that don't want sticker on my ride so I feel what your talkin about and greatly appreciate the site and in the process of gettin 2 or you block off plates I wish they could come in black but understand why cant

MazdaMitch It'll arrive in about 4-5 days.
I already made my trip to the post office today so it will ship tomorrow and I will send you a tracking and email like I do everyone else thank you for your business.

Received the EGR plate yesterday, Thank you, makes sense to make it out of aluminum to match the intake, the metal "Home Made" one I currently have on there, looks like ass and is probably one of the places letting air in causing the carb to run rough.
Can't wait to get that engine out this weekend .. Pics to come.

OGMB2K Yes and it will never rust, and if you were so inclined it can be welded into the intake.
