I had Rostra/Audiovox aftermarket cruise control in my 1988 B2200, first with factory carburetor and later with my Weber 32/36 DGEV. I later swapped this unit into my 1998 Frontier. My 1998 Frontier has the older Audiovox cruise control version which works well, but is vacuum operated.

I installed a newer Rostra universal cruise control kit into my 2004 Frontier back in 2013, and this would be easier and similar on a B2200 or B2600i; I used the panel control box option instead of the stalk control option. The universal kit is for vehicles with accelerator cables. It still works great, but I haven't used it since 2 days ago ! The cruise module is electronically operated, does not use engine vacuum, gets its signal from ignition coil negative terminal. Installation took a couple of hours (even though the installation manual I rate as "B"). I used hardware store brackets to mount the "brains" in the engine compartment, see photo #3. The cruise control cable attaches to the Frontier accelerator cable with an included connector, see photo #2. I routed the wires through the existing rubber grommet at the engine firewall.

My Frontier has manual transmission, and I did NOT purchase the optional clutch pedal switch; this means that if I want to change gears while the cruise is in operation, I need to either tap the brake pedal momentarily or turn off the cruise control power on the keypad so the engine doesn't rev up and scare the daylights out of me !!! Ask me how I know that !

On my B2200, I did widen the "groove" on the Weber pulley because I'd looped the cruise control cable around the barrel of the accelerator cable from the side, buy in hindsight I'd connect with a clamp to accelerator cable as in photo #2 above.
